Thursday: The day of thirty second speeches!
At 1:13, the speeches were over. We started talking about the differences about Middles Ages and Renaissance (the French word for "rebirth") and that brought us into the subject of Dante's Inferno at 1:18. This discussion, however, was really rather brief.
We soon moved on to talking about art and the churches. We discussed Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.
At 1:34 we moved on to talking about Machiavelli and his ingenius way of controlling people, including a demonstration from Mr. P. He asked two guys to race to the doors and see who could open them the fastest and get back to their seats. He didn't care which one won, he just wanted the doors open without having to do anything. Quite a marvelous way of getting work done, right? What if we could do homework that way, by tricking people into doing it for us? I'm sure not many people would have any objections to doing that. :)
At 1:50 we learned a bit about banks and Patrons of the Arts.
