November 20, 2013

Today in class we did our regular announcements.
After, we went over work sheet #5 and some of the answers. At about 1:40 we talked about Voltaire. "Behind fortune, is a crime" (Brittany Kernodle).
At 1:45 we learned that the "Declaration of Independence was like a break up letter" (Dylan Han). The Americans never thought of the U.S. as united but separate. An example of that: New York was a separate from Virginia in its goverment system.
Toward the end of class, at 1:50 we learned that Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton had two completely different ideas on how the country should be run. Apparently, Jefferson's idea of how the government should run might have been better...now we will never know.
